The range of line management responsibilities carried out by a manager is far reaching; this Introduction to First Line Management course aims to develop the right mind-set and fundamental skills required to help turn ‘doer’s into ‘managers’.

Course Objectives

This Introduction to First Line Management course aims to help participants develop the fundamental skills of effective first line management.

As a result of this training, participants will:

  • Know their natural first line management style and the impact of this on people and performance
  • Be able to apply the line management process within their work area
  • Gain assertive communication techniques to effectively deal with tricky situations 
  • Be able to effectively delegate to others in a way that instils confidence in and deals with differing ability levels
