Important Update regarding the defunding of Core Management Apprenticeships

Announcement update 16th March: FE Week

The Government recently confirmed its plans to withdraw funding for 16 apprenticeship standards no earlier than 1 September 2026.

While details are still being finalised, we can confirm that the Level 3 Team Leader and the Level 5 Operations Manager Apprenticeship Standards are being withdrawn. These popular management standards will be defunded as ministers attempt to divert training funding towards young people.

As your trusted apprenticeship partner, we want to ensure our learners and employers are fully informed and understand what these changes mean.

Once funding is withdrawn, these standards will no longer be available through the Growth & Skills Levy.

What This Means for learners/Apprentices currently on these programmes

Existing learners/apprentices will not be affected and will be able to fully conclude their programme.

What This Means for learners/Employers who want to access these programmes

As a specialist training provider exclusively offering these core management Apprenticeship standards, we are able to offer limited funded spaces for an extended period. We aim to support as many new apprenticeship starts as possible before the changes take effect later in 2026, and we are proactively contacting our existing partners.

If you would like to be considered for these limited spaces, please reach out to us to arrange a meeting to discuss your requirements.
